Admin Heads up, deal hunters: the Southwire 1000 ft Blue 24/4 CAT5e CMP Plenum Data Cable (model 56917749) is ringing up for just $0.01 a box at Home Depot in-store — down from its $220.00 list price. Two independent shoppers posted self-checkout proof on Nov 5, 2026, each showing the box scanning at a penny.
What you’re getting: 1,000 ft of Southwire Blue 24/4 CAT5e CMP plenum-rated cable in a pull box (model 56917749, Store SKU 709493); Plenum-rated (CMP) for running cable through plenum spaces, 24-gauge copper pairs; Listed at $220.00 a box on homedepot.com — the penny price is in the store system only, not on the website. This is the final markdown stage before the item is pulled from shelves, so stock is whatever is left at your store.
How to claim
- Head to the electrical / data cable aisle at Home Depot and look for the Southwire 1000 ft Blue CAT5e CMP plenum box (model 56917749).
- Scan the barcode in the Home Depot app or at a self-checkout kiosk — $0.00 in the app means it rings a penny.
- If it rings $0.01, check out right away. Be polite if staff question it: stores can decline a penny sale since the item was meant to be pulled.
Freebie verified
We verified this on Nov 5, 2026 (verified: 2026-11-05T15:15:00Z): two independent Facebook reels posted Nov 5 show the box scanning at $0.01 at self-checkout, and Home Depot’s own product page (Internet #202316503) confirms the item and its $220.00 list price.
Pros and cons
- Pro: A $220 box of plenum-rated Cat5e for a penny
- Pro: Receipt-backed by two independent shoppers on Nov 5
- Pro: No coupon or rebate needed — the penny price is in the system
- Con: In-store only and varies completely by store
- Con: Stores can decline a penny sale — the item was meant to be pulled
- Con: Stock is whatever is left on the shelf
Fine print: penny pricing is Home Depot’s internal markdown system, not an advertised sale — availability, and whether a store honors the $0.01 ring, are entirely up to the store.
